I have had the sidekick for a couple weeks and have used it much more then i thought i would. It washes in a little over 30 minutes and clothes come out smelling and looking great. It is very quiet I have been washing my work blouses in it and my slacks and jeans in my larger washer. My blouses are done and i am able to get them dried before my jeans are finished washing. Works out perfectly. Really enjoying my sidekick

Great for when you spill something that might possibly ruin anything from a dinner guests formal dining attire or your kids very best most favoritist shirt in the universe. Also good for washing out the extra dye in a prewash for your new garishly bright colored things as your washing the rest of that big color load without risking any unintentional color bleeding onto the whole familys wardrobe without any extra time spent to do so

So handy to use for small loads in between fill washes or for delicates while big washer is washing full load. LG washer is great but Best Buy installers were the worst Would not but from Best Buy again - it took 3 different installations 3 different machines before they got it to work without flooding my laundry room.

I purchased the sidekick to go along with my LG washer. At first I wasnt sure how much use the sidekick would get well I was wrong I use it everyday. A small but mighty washer. The direct drive motor is a plus with fewer moving parts. It also features a stainless steel drum. The sidekick cleans exceptional. Now you can not stuff a full size load insidethats why you haven a full size machine its perfect for a few items. A wash my bathing suits exercise clothes intimates delicates and table cloths. A convenient add on to my washer. The washer cups with a measure cup to ensure you use the right amount of liquid detergent. I love my sidekick makes laundry life easier. I run both the side kick and main washer at the same time. I can even smart diagnosis to troubleshoot. I recommend the sidekick in a heartbeat. I wish I could give it more then five stars. I know its just a washer but its an exceptional washer that you need. I am waiting for my washer to break in our other house so I can replace it with a LG Washer and of course a sidekick.

I have enjoyed my new LG washing machine combo purchase for approximately 3 weeks now. There are several things that have helped to reinforce my decision to purchase the SideKick. I typically have small delicate loads that I do not want to wash with other items. The SideKick is perfect for this kind of use. I appreciate the ability to run two loads simultaneously which helps to finish my laundry sooner. I no longer think twice about running a load of very few items as I have already used it to wash one thing only. This feature has given me flexibility and helps me to keep on top of the laundry. I am pleased with the job it is doing. My clothing is coming out as clean as it did from my old agitator washing machine. I am excited that the water requirements are much less because this should help to lower my monthly water bill. I have had only one concern. I can hear residual water that has remained in the outer tub when I move the inner tub to dry it out and there is condensation inside the inner tub even after having dried it out with a towel the previous day. While not seriously concerned I do not want any mold to develop on the seal of the lid that might cause a foul odor. We have smelled odors coming from the older front load washing machines of friends.

Thank you LG for this opportunity to tell my fellow launderers about this wonderful addition to your appliance line-up Too often Ive had to waste water and increase my utiity bill washing personal loads of laundry. Not to mention the damage done to my lingerie and other fine washables using the less than delicate cycle in most regular washers. The side-kick is a perfect addition todays appliance dilemmas. Now I can actually wash my finer items delicately or get the soil from my work out wear before it has a chance to set in. Bravo LG

When I purchased this item I did not think that it would be used that often. However my wife and daughter seem to truly love it. There are several advantages I see. It is a more gentle wash. The size is perfect for frequently used items like dance leotards stockings and lady things. Also it is a quick wash cycle. The install was quite easy but I would say that I am a bit worried about the y-connections for the water supplies. So far so good no leaking detected. One bit of advice on the installation. When leveling the pedestal with the top-mounted washer it is not sufficient to level the machine and bolt down the feet. You need to run a rinse and spin cycle and check for vibrations. You will definitely find that you will need to re-adjust the feet during the cycle to minimize the vibration.

Nice to have a mini washer for a few items. If you get a stain on an item of clothes you can wash it immediately by itself instead of waiting until you had enough clothes for a full load..... saving your stained item Its a good thing.

Standing dirty water

I would not recommend this product. After the first use you will have standing water at the button of the drum. I spoke with the seller they said this is normal for this kind of appliances. It just does not make any sense having dirty water standing in your washer. I dont think it is right. LG needs to work on the fact the washer does not drain properly.

I installed the Sidekick below a combo unit replacing the lighter-weight pedestal. This substantially reduced the wobbling of the combo unit on spin cycles and provided the benefit of a smaller washer. The Sidekick capacity is perfect for small loads and high-speed spin dries the loads well enough to air dry or put into the above unit for a 30-min drying period. Great for special washes. I only with it was easier to dry out the interior after the washes were done since leaving the lid open to air dry requires that the drawer remain exposed for hours not ideal for closet washing areas like mine my solution is to let it dry overnight while Im asleep.

Fills a Need I Didnt Know I Had*

We have only had the Sidekick installed for a month but it has already proven its worth Running small loads and delicates in this little machine enables me to complete all our laundry in less than a day. I love what it does And I love the musical tootles all my LGs use to indicate the end of the cycle. *I have asterisked my review because there are some things about this machine I did not know when I selected it. So be aware that: 1 It requires a separate electrical outlet. Our laundry room had only a double outlet for the washer and dryer so we had to have a contractor install a quad. Fortunately we did not need another circuit. 2 It is deeper than the LG washing machine above it. This means that the entire washer/dryer set up is farther from the wall than the regular washer and dryer alone would be. This makes my small laundry room a bit more crowded but with the benefits of the Sidekick I can deal with it. Suggested product improvement: better ability to select wash temperature with each type of cycle.

Its still hard to use 1 tsp of detergent for a load in the sidekick it just doesnt seem like you are using enough detergent but you are Clothes come out clean. I am glad that I purchased this during promotion. Its great when you want to do a small load which I do quite often.

This little washer has surprised me with its usefulness. When our main washer was broken the Sidekick got us through taking care of essentials. When I have a sweater that needs a handwashing cycle I just do it whenever I want rather than trying to get several to do together in the big washer. And now instead of breaking up my laundry into two medium-sized loads both run in the big washer I can do one big load in the big washer and one little load in the Sidekick. Im glad that were saving water and yet still getting it all done.

It is not a very efficient washing machine. For once it only has one water temp setting warm. So I cannot wash my cold delicates or dark clothes in there. Second theres not a separate section to put the detergent. You have to add it to the tub with the clothes. Well the directions say to avoid adding the detergent directly on clothes because it might damage the clothes. There is not much space in there to begin with so you have to push the clothes to the side and add the soap. Not good if your using bleach. The directions say that the machine will let you know when to add fabric softener. It does but it doesnt let you add it. Pausing the cycle doesnt unlock it and I have been unable to pry it open no matter what buttons I push. Eventually I end up missing the chance to add the softener. I have to wait for it to finish so I can then restart the machine on a rinse only setting. By this time my regular washing machine has completed washing and there was no need for me to be on standby waiting to add softener. Third the clothes come out of there extremely wrinkled. A sweater that never needs ironing came out with permanent wrinkles. I tried everything to take out those wrinkles I even resorted to Goggle but nothing worked. I even lost a sweater button in the process. Sweater ruined. Lastly it doesnt clean clothes very well. Clothes do not come out looking or smelling washed. Instead it comes out dingy and wrinkled. I end up having to rewash my clothes on the top washer. I just stopped using the sidekick all together. I wish I would have saved my money.

Washer leaks less than 2 months of purchase

Washer leaks water down the front door if you put too much fabric softener or detergent. You can not put soap to the normal or max indication line because it will overflow when the cycle begins. The fabric softener tray continues to get clogged up so I have to take it apart and wash it out every week. Never had this problem before with our other LG front load. Would not recommend.

If one is going to buy a pedestal for the washer why not get this if you can afford it? This little gem does a wonderful job of getting your delicates clean without them getting wrapped up in the big stuff or wasting a tub full of water. The only drawback is the need to leave the drawer cracked open to air dry but this is a common requirement for all front loads anyway. Easy install and works great. Just be sure your installer attaches all the screws included in the stacking kit 16

I love my LG Sidekick washer. Not only is it quiet efficient but the fact that I can wash two completely different types of laundry at the same time is just amazing to me. I was afraid the novelty would wear off I wouldnt use it as much after a while but boy was I wrong. I use it almost every time I use my full size washer I love it more more every time I use it. I would highly recommend the LG Sidekick to anyone who wants to expedite their time spent doing laundry.

We got this machine about 6 months ago. At the time I did not realize you could not use bleach in it or that the Warm water setting is really not warm. So if you need to use bleach and/or hot water for tiny loads you may want to pass. However this machine is still handy I use it when I missed an item to wash someone gets something yucky on the item and I want it washed separately first or when something gets a spill and I want it washed now to prevent staining or a smell.

My sidekick washer is everything that was promised It is great for blouse and delicates and doesnt twist everything in knots like the big washer does. The only inconvenience is that I leave it open to dry completely after a wash and we need to step over it. But it dries over night and the benefits far outweigh the dry time
