I purchased this sound bar around a month ago. So far I like it. The setup was very easy and Bluetooth range is great. Sound is not as good as the Klipsch I used prior. I mainly bought this for the ATMOS option as my Klipsch was older. Sound is really good from my 2018 Samsung TV however when streaming music from my iPhone or other it is not as crisp as my Klipsch. Overall I like the sound bar and anticipate keeping it for several years.

Huge Soundbar with a poor Center Channel

Picked up this SK10Y soundbar to replace a 2017 SJ8. Sadly I almost feel it was like a downgrade. The soundbar is huge which is fine as it sits on a entertainment center below my previous 60 inch now 65 inch LG TV. The problem is the center channel is horrible. They had a firmware update that allowed you to increase the volume of it independently but it didnt help much at all. Watching a good Sci-Fi movie the talking totally gets drowned out by the rest of the surround noises. I did pick up the rear speakers LG SPK8 which I highly recommend and make a huge difference. Also while I cant validate this but word on the street is only the standard mode actually takes advantage of Meridan Technology. So if you use ASC or Movie you loose the tuning Meridan helped LG with. This soundbar uses a newer app then the 2017 and earlier ones which is much easier to use but Id say 50 of the time it doesnt actually detect the sound bar and I have to close and reopen it about 5 times. Not sure if that is an App issue or a Soundbar issue but its a major annoyance. Id wait to see some reviews on the 2019 models but if your looking for a decent deal on a closeout 2018 model you may want to skip this one.

Amazing Audio

This is my second LG sound bar but first SK10y model. I hooked this one up to my LG Oled65 television and let me tell you OMG the sound on this is amazing. I love the Dolby Atmos on this it feels like you are in the movie. You have to have this hooked up to the blu-Ray or Apple 4K in order for it to work. The players have to also be Dolby Atmos compatible in order for it to work. Also the show or the movie has to have Dolby Atmos. I got the rear speakers with this and it makes such a big difference. It is a lot of money but well worth it. I love having family and friends coming over and loving the surround on this sound bar.

I bought one retail and used it about 2 weeks. Dialog is quite bad if you have hearing voices youre really not going to want this bar. Bass is lacking in a big way as well. LG you make fabulous flat screens but your audio leaves much to be desired.

My wife and I bought this a couple weeks ago and we have been very pleased and very satisfied with this product. The best feature for me is the bluetooth because I can play music from my laptop or phone and what makes it so great is the standby feature which allows you to connect without having to actually turn it on. So Im in the toilet one morning listening to a radio station and decided that I wanted to hear this music louder so I let my fingers do the talking/walking my wife freaked out cause the music came on and I wasnt around lol.

Ive been playing with it for over a month and found out the on line manual doesnt explain all the info needed. I had a blue ray player hooked into one of the HDMI outlets on the sound bar and couldnt access the player. I contacted on line support and was given an answered within 24hours. Now everything is great and Im enjoying great sound.

I bought this about three weeks ago. The sound is excellent. But there are a few issues. The center channel is quiet even when turned up after update in movie mode. Second when system is booted up with tv DVR sk20y it loads hdmi 2 which is connected to 4K player. I tried switching cables around. Then it starts on one. Confusing.

The sound is incredible which is what I hoped for when I purchased it. The bar looks good on top of the cabinet but I had to elevate the OLED TV so the remote had a clear vision to the IR. The overall performanse is outstanding.

The sound bar is great and with recent software updates all open issues are fixed. However the woofer is extremely week and does not perform well. Having said that it is definitely not worth even with the promotional price. Also there is no DTS-X support. Buying SPK8 speakers are a mandatory requirement to experience ATMOS to a certain level.

Good a few improvements needed

I have had my Soundbar now for 8~ months and enjoy the soundbar but a few things leave me wanting more and looking to see if this should be my forever soundbar for not. I echo the same comments as others I do also struggle with voices even after the last update would be nice to be able to make further improvements in this regards. Secondly I was really hoping by now a LG TV compatible mount would be available my TV is on an adjustable mount but the Soundbar does not move with it. Ill need to revisit again if people have made this work with any of the universal brackets. Thirdly there is seemingly a bug somewhere in the Google Cast feature I use this feature almost daily and once or so a week it gets into a funk. The funk means it wont accept the Cast regardless if I use my phone or laptop chrome all of these devices end up in a loop trying to establish the Cast. I struggle with how to get it out of the funk without turning off the hard power or I need to wait for it to clear itself over some amount of time. The Soundbar clearly is trying to do something it list the input as WIFI but does not get much further.

Needs Clearer Center Channel even after update

I have to say I desperately want to love this sound bar but even after the most recent update the center channel is weak and voices sound muffled. I have the center channel maxed out at 6 and everything else but treble at 0 or below and and it is still often times hard to distinguish what people are saying in movies and shows. I have to max the volume just to barely hear and make out words in some shows. If LG could just fix the center channel clarity this bar would be near PERFECT everything else about it has been great. If 6 is the max the center channel can do now it needs to be able to go to a 16...its hard to appreciate shows when voices sound like Charlie Brown. Please fix

Wireless Interference

Very Good but Not Excellent

Overall its a great soundbar for those that want a Dolby Atmos support without the bulk and complexity of a dedicated receiver and speaker setup. It was a snap to get the SK10Y up and running. It was as simple as connecting the HDMI cable between the ARC ports on the soundbar and TV. The wireless subwoofer paired immediately and required no intervention on my part. HDMI-CEC/Simplink works flawlessly and I can control everything through the LG Magic Remote that came with the B7A. Once hooked up I immediately ran the firmware update to the latest version. This fixed the low voice issue that others have proved feedback on. The LG Wifi Speaker app is functional but the UI is clunky. It takes too many clicks and drilling down into menus to find what I need. LG also needs to take the time to make the app more intuitive. Overall sound quality is very good but seems to lack oomph. Perhaps I need to spend more time tinkering around with the settings but I am surprised my previous SJ8 4.1 soundbar seemed to pack more punch. In particular the bass from the subwoofer is very weak. Im not asking for room shaking vibrations but it should at least beat out the smaller unit on my previous LG soundbar. The need to play around with profiles to get optimal sound is made more difficult by the above mentioned UI issues in the app. Atmos works well for an integrated unit and I am happy with the experience. The WebOS apps are able to send Atmos over Dolby Digital Plus via ARC. TrueHD passthrough from an external media streamer works as advertised. The design of the unit is very nice. As stated in the specs its a big unit that pairs perfectly with LGs 65 televisions. The build is solid and the materials used feel high quality. The rubber feet firmly plant the soundbar on TV consoles for those that choose not to wallmount. It takes significant force beyond casual contact and bumps to move the SK10Y. The subwoofer is a good size and also feels solidly built. It also resists sliding and has enough heft to keep it planted in place. Ergonomically I find the wallmount to be a weak link. A bit of careful thought could have made this unit great but it feels like no one was thinking about providing an excellent customer experience. I understand speaker layout weight and other design considerations affected how soundbars can be wallmounted but it would be nice if LG had a universal mount. I now have several screw holes I need to repair because the mounting bracket on the SK10Y does not align with the bracket on my previous SJ8. It would be nice and a great incentive to continue LG soundbars if I can simply pull out the old unit and slide a newer one in.

Voice issue even after firmware update

As a couple of reviews below pointed out the voice issue has not been fixed with the firmware. LG needs to go back to Dolby and figure out how to differentiate the voice object positioning from other objects. In high action scenes it sounds like youre listening to a background soundtrack. LGs one firmware update away from having one of the best soundbars out there. Until then I probably wont be listening to Atmos content.

Wow a complete miss in audio

I bought this to replace my previous soundbar. What a mistake. I love the fact I can pass Dolby Vision and atmos over arc. It does that very well to my lgg7p. It does a decent job of atmos and the center channel level control was fixed to a fair degree . The big negatives are the lack of volume control for the left front right front left rear surround and right rear surround channels separately. The lack of the ability to decode a normal Dolby Digital or dts soundtrack with tHe rears engaged just using the left front center right front left rear right rear and switching back to2.1 when broadcast Its terrabl when the source switches to 2.0 and all speakers blast I am hoping these issues get fixed or I think you have a big miss here and having many regrets for the purchase would have thought better of lg and meridian I hope these issues can be addressed really I hope you check out the forums and professional reviews. Ive had it going on two weeks

Firmware App Update doesnt fix design flaws

SOFTWARE VERSION : 18061178 DSP : 18060800 is what LG pushed to address center/vocal channel operation performance. It doesnt fix the core issue. The core issue is with the positioning of the vocal sound components objects and their relative strength to the other high energy or atmosphere objects that are introduced in more dynamic or ambient scenes in the Dolby ATMOS sound field. With this update LG introduced a center channel control that can boost vocals but it also boosts other objects in the near field of object placement. Just check the most dynamic scenes in the recent HD release of Ready Player One. When characters are further back in the visual field of the movie their voices are by ATMOS object oriented design positioned back in the sound field relative to the entire soundscape. The problem is there are obvious over attenuation issues with how this soundbars DSP handles vocal object placement on dialog not in the foreground of the movie. And the newly introduced center channel control doesnt help pull those back positioned dialog objects forward. Both the provided remote control and the mobile app have introduced this center channel control. As a side note what LG failed to recognize is that all functions of the sound field adjustments - most notably the Treble and Bass controls - are still missing in the mobile app. Seriously? But I digress ... This soundbar has the potential to reign supreme if LG can only figure out how to better communicate with Dolby Labs and possibly Meridian - to address the processing of voice objects in the generated sound field. Soundbar sounds really good and I love being able to control it via an app as well as being able to play music onto it via its built in Chromecast. Planning on getting the rear speakers soon. As for cons I only see two: the top firing speakers are not centered on the Soundbar like they are on the lower tier version of this product being closer to the front. The second is cost: not sure Id be able to distinguish this and the lower version of this Soundbar which is shorter and cheaper.

Needs a fix for Center channel weakness in movies

Had this a couple of months and although music sound is excellent thats not what I bought it for. On movies the Center channel dialogue is drowned out by the atmospheric background sounds and music soundtrack components. It is very difficult to make out the dialogue. Extremely disappointing. I knew that this issue existed when I purchased but I trusted LG to fix the problem with a software/firmware fix which has yet to come. Very poor for their flagship sound bar and I cant recommend unless its fixed.

Great sound some issues

I got this a couple weeks ago and hooked it up to my Xbox One X. Atmos compatibility had to be downloaded thru an app kind of weird but it works and it sounds great. Watching blu-rays sounds great but while playing games I noticed some issues. I had some static sound intermittently which was annoying but didnt ruin the experience.

I replaced my old 5.1 system with this expecting it to be great fit for my C7 55 inch OLED. To be honest Im a bit underwhelmed while its a good to great sound the levels are off. I need to crank the center speaker Thanks to recent firmware updates to get any sort of clarity out of the vocals. My girlfriend frequently asks me so switch it from the movie experience to bass blast because she cant clearly hear the vocals. Other than that the ports and support for wifi/bt + 4k pass through is great. Just a bit disappointed about the vocal levels.

Great After firmware update

I bought one from best buy a week ago with the rear surround speakers. The action sounded fantastic but the dialogue was dround out during high action sceens to the point where you could not hear the charaters speek. I was about 5 seconds from returning it when a update to the firmware posted on the app. After a quick update and reboot i was able to change the center channel. Now it sounds fantastic and i beleive is the best soundbar on the market. I would seriously regret if i had returned and not seen the update.

The audio on the center speaker which controls the volume of voices is terrible. I cant sit through a movie with this bar. Im constantly having to turn up the volume so i can hear what people are saying then down in loud non-voice parts. LG should come out with a firmware fix so you can control the volume of the center speaker. This is a known issue. if you do a google search or go to AVS Forum website they speak about this. This bar is garbage without a fix. really stinks. LG has learned nothing as last years sound bar had serious rear surround issues. Standard Installations

If our delivery team deems any installation as 'non-standard' they will require your approval and signature before proceeding. In addition, an additional fee may be charged depending on the nature of the situation to compensate for additional time spent and materials used, similar to working with any other contractor. 'Non-standard' installations include, but are not limited to, the following scenarios:

Dishwashers

Flooring that is raised or built on top of a pre-existing floor makes dishwasher installations very difficult. Cutting off legs of the old dishwasher may be required for removal, but will only be performed with your authorization and signature. There is no guarantee that your dishwasher can be installed if your floor is raised too high, so please discuss this possibility with your salesperson so you can purchase a dishwasher that has more flexibility for your particular installation needs. If a dishwasher installation is beyond the scope of our trained professionals, we might insist on refunding your delivery fee and leaving the project for your own contractor. As a conscientious delivery crew, we always choose to error on the side of protecting your property and avoiding a sloppy installation.

Gas Ranges and Dryers

Gas valves must be located in the appropriate position behind the appliance, as we cannot reposition or manipulate any gas line. We will not touch gas valves on the outside of the house and be responsible for restarting your pilot lights.

Electric Ranges and Dryers

Hardwiring ranges and dryers does not meet the required regulations. We come prepared with 3 prong ($19.95) and 4 prong receptacles ($29.95) which must be installed and will hang loose, but safely, behind the unit. This nominal fee is significantly less than hiring an electrician, so please cooperate with our installers who insist on following local code. Look behind your appliance...If there is a 220v outlet, there will be no additional charges. New cords must always be purchased (3 Prong - $12.95, 4 Prong - $16.95), even with a receptacle installation, as we never take the risk of using an old and possibly frayed cord.

Washing Machines

Old fill hoses can leak or burst. Queen insists on protecting your property by using only new hoses for every one of our washer installations. Some machines come with new rubber hoses, while many do not, so be prepared to purchase new rubber or stainless steel ones for a small fee. If you insist on using your old hoses, that is not a problem, however we will only put the unit in place and you must sign and indicate that you will be hooking up the hoses yourself. 5 foot fill hoses are always used, which is longer than the standard 4 foot; however some tight spaces require longer fill hoses and drain hose extensions for a small fee (i.e. laundry centers).

Refrigerators

Refrigerator water lines can only be connected to copper tubing (no charge for install) or via poly line to a shut-off valve behind the refrigerator (small fee for materials). The installers can run a new water line with copper tubing for $79.95.

Inclement Weather

Please understand that our hard-working delivery crew cannot control inclement weather and traffic conditions. If emergencies arise you will be notified and rescheduling arrangements will be made to the best of our abilities. Completing all of our deliveries is a commitment we always keep, and we never intend to inconvenience any of our customers.

Scratch & Dent Appliances

Since Scratch & Dent appliances have pre-existing damage, please make sure to fill out a damage detail form with your salesperson. Our drivers take great pride in protecting your purchases, one of the main reasons we do not sub-contract our delivery team.

Removals

Removals of old appliances are $5 for each piece ($15 for Refrigerators) or can be taken outside for your bulk trash pickup at no charge.
