I splurged on this top of the line LC microwave with convection oven and regret the decision every day. You need an engineering degree to figure out how to use it even for the simplest functions. The User Manual is useless. If you value your time buy a cheaper LG with less bells whistles and simple buttons.

Purchased floor model didnt work

We purchased the floor model at Best Buy. After our contractor installed it we found it did not work. The electronic display was malfunctioning and we could not get around it. Best Buy accepted the return for full refund and we purchased a different LG model. But we now have to pay the contractor extra to install the new one. We regret purchasing the floor model in the first place.

1 The output power of this microwave was mis-stated in the Best Buy spec sheet online which was the primary feature I was seeking. I didnt notice the discrepancy until after the unit was installed and I was reading the LG manual itself. 2 The magnetron component failed after just 17 months rendering the microwave unusable at least it died within the 2-year warranty period. 3 Scheduling the repair/replacement is a difficult process with LG. They tend to assign appointments without first consulting to ensure its a good day/time for the consumer leading to multiple back-and-forth exchanges to get on the schedule. The technician-scheduling and parts-ordering/back-ordering functions do not appear to aligned causing more difficulty in scheduling repair. 4 While this unit features the Smart Tag / diagnostic/issue reporting functions I have never been able to get them to work in concert with the LG ThinQ app adding to my frustration. 5 Overall I have found that countertop microwaves are more powerful than the over-the-range units and easier to deal with.

Please Standardize the Mounting Holes

We purchased an LG suite refrigerator dishwasher and over-the-range microwave 10 years ago and the microwave just quit working. We decided to get another LG microwave to match the existing appliances and keep from having to change all of the mounting. While the lower mounting bracket was the same I was surprised that they had changed the locations of the top bolt holes and plug hole why do this?. When we removed the microwave from the box after drilling all new mounting holes we found it was damaged during shipping. Long story but we sent it back and decided on a different LG model assuming that two new LG models would have the same mounting. I was wrong The other new model has different locations for the top holes than the other two models. Just why? The bottom of my upper cabinet now looks like Swiss cheese to accommodate all of the different LG models and Im assuming the next one will be something different. LG please standardize your microwave mounting system.
An aside: when did appliances start lasting 3-5 years? Our refrigerator compressor had to be replaced at 6 years the repair tech told me I was lucky to get 6 years and the microwave lasted 10 which Im told is very very good. We use to replace refrigerators after 20 or 30 years because we didnt like the color. Our first microwave lasted 20 years and we replaced it because of its looks. Appliances are now 10x more expensive but we are considered lucky if we get 5 years out of them. These new expensive appliances are junk

Purchased in February 2019 and worked okay until December 2020. Broke down completely and lost all electronics. Repaired and worked okay until this month Jan.2022.
Same problem in and we have lost all confidence in unit. Less than 3 years old and it does not work at all. Very unhappy with a unit that had good features and looks. Repairing again seems pointless as we have lost all confidence in LG microwaves.
