Horrible Product- Horrible Customer Service!!

We purchased this refrigerator in June 2017. After installation the water dispenser would never work. We called kitchenaid and they sent out a serviceman who checked out the fridge and said that the water line might not have enough pressure. After we had the waterline tested and discovered we had normal water press. we called kitchenaid back. This time the serviceman said that this was a common problem with the model and that he would have to install a press. regulator valve because the press. was too high coming into the line. However, during inspection of the fridge he discovered the condensate drain tube was completely collapsed and that there was nothing he could do but have KA replace it. That was the end of Aug. and it's now Oct. and we still have not received our replacement fridge. Last week I called costumer service where I was told the delivery co. would contact me the following week to schedule the exchange. I finally receive a call from the company stating they were from Whirlpool. I said that we have Kitchenaid refrigerator. She said, "I don't know the specific details on the model you have, Whirlpool owns Kitchenaid" I understand, just making sure we get the right model. She continues on that they normally don't deliver in our area and would only be available for Sat. Sats are not good for us. She became irritated and said that she would call KA back and have them pick it up for another co. to deliver. I called KA again today to check on the exchange. Over 30mins on hold the agent tells me that the delivery co. tried to contact me without success. I said, no we spoke but we're not available on Sat. and the agent said that was the only option for delivery. No,we're not available on Sat! Finally, she says that another co. could deliver on weekdays but would take 7-14 bus. days then tells me to have a good day and immediately hangs up! I can't believe we spent so much money on this junk fridge to be treated like this. Avoid kitchenaid like the plague!

Thought for the price it wouldn't break down in 8 months. Though the refrigerator is beautiful it does not make ice well and the refrigerator went out. Been without a refrigerator for about a month while they wait for the part to come in. Repair person said that this is "common" with this series. Well if its common it seems that Kitchen Aid would reach out and replace the board before it becomes a problem. Very disappointed would not recommend this refrigerator. Or if you want you can buy mine so I can get something that might actually work.

I bought this a few weeks ago because kitchenaid seemed to be the best for the money. There were some significant bad reviews but I hoped that I would get a good one. I love the layout and the french doors. On day 4 after I emptied the ice maker for a party the ice maker in the door started dripping. I called the installer who came out and said some ice got stuck and now it was not working. Kitchenaid is sending a repair person this week. Not happy!

Frustrating and disappointing experience--beware

Had this about a month. Pretty but makes a constant high pitch frequency sound (NOT THE COMPRESSOR). has since day 1. 3 Service appointments later and a changed board...no fix. KA tells the factory service person that the engineers know of this issue but don't know how to fix. Really? KA "recommends" to order a new door, which happens to be on backorder, AND will take 6 weeks to ship to my house, maybe longer. So here I am, one month with brand new $4k + refrigerator that emits a sound that drives me crazy (to the point I can't be in the kitchen without other noise to drown out) that I have to live with for maybe 2 months? Nice. Imagine a piercing dog-whistle like sound ALL THE TIME. I'd like a new refrigerator...period. For as much as this thing costs, that's what I expect.

I love opening the doors and seeing the gorgeous wood shelving and strong metal/glass shelving! The ice is a perfect size and the water/ice dispenser has lots of settings. Drawers even pull closed on their own! Door signals when left open. Nice freezer compartments, even a slot for frozen pizza!

The refrigerator look great and has a lot of great features. we've really enjoyed the LOOKS of it however we are two months in and the ice maker has never produced enough ice and has recently begun to leak water under one of the drawers. We called the KitchenAid repair man and he said these models have an issue with the computer board. Basically, they are generating too much ice where the cooling fins are and then the ice melts away. This is causing the bottom to be filled with water and the ice machine not to produce like it should. Long story short we've now ordered a part that's under warranty but it's going to take 3 weeks to get it. And in that time, we've been told to turn off the unit at night so the ice doesn't build up. What a pain in the butt!! Don't buy this until until they fix the computer board issue.

Beautiful fridge but already breaking down after 3 months

We loved the commercial look and the interior is beautiful but after owning for 3 months it is already breaking down. The refrigerator part is not staying cool, Appliance Hospital came out and said it needs a new fan, meanwhile we are tossing food left and right. Also while waiting a week for new fan and install, the water dispenser decides to only work periodically. Super frustrating, I've owned GE appliances that have never had any issues and unfortunately we decide to purchase a new brand of appliance (thought it was an upgrade....) and so far am feeling really really stupid for this purchase. It is a lemon as other reviews have suggested.

Love this refridgerator. The refridgerator has plenty of space and I love the slide out shelf. Not a huge fan of the freezer space though. Seems a bit small, especially if you have a large family. It's just me and my husband now and I have another freezer in the garage, so this isn't a big issue for me. Could be for others.

We purchased this refrigerator in May 2017 and we have an issue similar to what i have since read from other buyers. We noticed our food spoiling quickly and then learned that there is an issue with the fridge not defrosting. We have thrown out so much food and now will wait 1 week for the repair without a refrigerator. I hope that this repair fixes not only the fridge temps, but also the ice maker. The amount of ice this makes is so disappointing. thank you.

Read the reviews on this fridge prior to purchasing and had some concerns. We bought this to replace an $8000 built-in that died. The key to this unit is having it installed and adjusted properly. Reading the manual is a must. Luckily I have a husband that read it from cover to cover and realized some things that needed adjustment. Every issue we read in reviews could all be attributed to issues of adjustment. When it is delivered you need to make sure the guys do not remove certain screws that are aligned perfectly for the doors to seal properly. They just don't know the particulars of each and every model they deliver. The interior is beautiful and well lit. The multiple filters are fabulous at extending life of both fruit and vegetables. This unit is not cheap, but well worth the investment when you have friends that come over and ooh and aah over your fridge!

Disappointed New Owner

I purchased this fridge July 23rd, 2017. Approximately one week ago, the fresh food section started getting warm and the ice production quickly declined. I used the online service scheduler and set up a visit for Tuesday, August 29th. I was contacted the day before the appointment by the service provider and was told the Maytag does not check with them before scheduling service, therefore they would not be able to come out till the 31st. The technicians spent 15 minutes at my home to tell me that there is a service bulletin to replace the control board and condenser cover? Apparently its a known issue where the fridge is unable to defrost itself quickly enough to keep the fresh food cool. Now i have to wait an additional week before the parts are in. After contacting Maytag customer service, i waited for 20 minutes for them to tell me that my food spoilage wasn't covered by the warranty. Stunningly beautiful fridge with disappointing performance and warranty.

I purchased this fridge a few months ago after a kitchen remodel. It looks great and the interior of the fridge area is stylish and spacious. However, the one MAJOR problem with this model is the freezer does not produce ice in a timely manner! If the ice tray is empty at the end of the night and I check it in the morning, there is only 1/4 of the bin full with ice. This is not acceptable when you are paying this type of money for an appliance. I have had a service technician out to inspect if there is an issue. He found nothing and stated that this unit doesn't produce ice quickly. I would not recommend this fridge because of the ice machine! I wish I could get a refund =\

More storage than it looks!

We bought this a month ago to replace our dying Jenn Air of only 9 years! We were a little concerned with storage in a counter depth fridge but man we were surprised to find out how much it fits. The key is the storage bins on the doors, it holds a ton of stuff from condiments to milk, bottled water and beer. The interior is really cool with the wood trim, soft close draws, and sliding shelf for tall items.. The ice machine works great and we love the auto water fill feature. The freezer is a bit tight but the pizza holder is nice. Very quiet operation too!!. We hope to get years of use out of this unit.

Best Counter Depth Refrigerator

We bought this refrigerator a month ago and love it! The interior is very elegant and versatile. The wood grain and neon lighting gives sets it apart from other units. Other pluses include the marinating drawer and the see through drawers. The adjustability of the shelving and doors allows for the storage of a lot of drinks within the unit. We have also found that storing soda cans on their sides in the sliding open shelve is particularly handy. The ice maker works great - the cubes are a small square which my family loves the shape. Can't believe we have found such a efficient yet elegant refrigerator all in one!

Hefty price ... Evaporator design problem

Purchased this refrigerator in May 2017 after giving much thought about the $$$ cost. In less than 3 months, a problem arose. I began seeing a pooling of water on the floor on multiple days, and had to call for repair under the initial warranty. Learned that the water problem was the result of a flaw in the evaporator design cover originally installed that impeded proper air floor and icing up of the evaporator. As icing built up, items in the refrigerator not as cold as they should be and food spoilage quicker. As icing began to slowly melt, water pooled onto the floor. Was told that due to design flaw, evaporator cover assembly had to be re-designed, and which Whirlpool/KitchenAid is now installing at the factory stage in its newer produced models. Rather than recall previously sold models, Whirlpool/KitchenAid addressing the evaporator problem under the initial warranty. I am now awaiting the order/delivery of the redesigned evaporator assembly from the factory to replace the evaporator assembly originally installed. Meanwhile, I will be keeping a towel on the floor to absorb the melting ice build up from the evaporator until repair work can be done. To experience such a major issue only after 2 1/2 months ownership, I am reluctant to recommend the purchase of this refrigerator model. I expect quality performance and dependability from a product when it comes with such a hefty price tag. If I am having to install replacement parts after such a short period of ownership, I am not confident this will be a dependable refrigerator in the future.

fridge a lemon

This refrigerator is incredibly beautiful. It's beauty is overshadowed by it's problems. Water started leaking from a valve within days of installation ruining my newly refinished wood floor. Yesterday, I noticed Frost building up on the freezer door seal! I believe that this fridge is a lemon and Kitchenaide should replace it. I have chatted on line with the rep. She stated that they will not replace, but repair. YIKES! I wish Kitchenaide would acknowledge that this is a lemon and do the right thing. I do understand that not every manufactured product is perfect, but they should stand behind theirs. This was a VERY expensive fridge. So far it's only making lemonade.

When my Subzero Refrigerator finally died, I wanted a satisfactory replacement, but did not want the cost of another Subzero. I find that my counter depth Kitchen Aid has plenty of room and is organized in such a way to allow for a large amount of food and beverages. The Fresh Flow feature keeps produce very fresh. I am very happy with my new Kitchen Aid.

Installed Jan 31, 2017. Quit cooling in July, took 3 weeks to get it fixed due to lack of technicians in the area and no parts. Worked for 3 weeks and then icemake completely stopped. Always slow to make ice. Waiting on replacement now...will take weeks.

I purchased this refrig for a new home to match other Kitchen Aid appliances (see my review on their oven). The ice making capacity is abysmal. Service has been out and replaced nearly the entire inside of the ice-maker in the door due to a 'recall notice.' (BTW--it would be nice for Kitchen Aid to send out notices). The ice capacity is still terrible. I can, at most, keep the thing half-way full unless I am running "MAX ICE" all of the time and have even turned the temperature colder on the freezer to help. This was the single most expensive refrigerator I have ever purchased and I am thoroughly disappointed in the ice production. I know keep a bag of ice in the freezer, re-loading every week. Buy for the looks to match your other Kitchen Aid apppliances if you must--don't buy for ice. All in all--between my oven and now refrigerator, I will never purchase this brand again. Looks great--does not deliver.

I love this fridge! After purchasing another brand of fridge last August and having trouble with it 3 months later due to faulty ice maker issue that they never could resolve. I received a full refund and then I selected the Kitchen Aid to purchase. Counter depth was important to me and It is an awesome fridge. I love the design and look. My family uses a lot of ice and this ice maker keeps up with our consumption. Lots of shelf space, the fruit and veggie crisper drawers are large and hold a lot of food and keep it fresh. Door space is ample and organized. It is slightly noisier than my last brand but I'm OK with it. That would be my only 4 star on the review. I recommend this fridge!

Bought in June. Seems to be working fine. I have no problem with the ice as others have mentioned, even with a full house it seems to keep up. I do have a problem with the freezer door. Every time I open it it clunks, very annoying especially considering how expensive. One time the top drawer came off the runner and the freezer did not close properly leaving frost all over inside. I have written to Kitchenaid about the clunk, no response. I am saying don't buy this because no one seems to care. Don't like havin to open both doors to use top part.

Worst Ice Maker made by KitchenAid

I bought this refrigerator in September 2016 when it was first released. Unfortunately it took until Dec. 24 to receive delivery due to back orders. It is a terrific looking refrigerator, I have owned 3 Kitchenaid's prior, all great performers and fantastic ice makers. This model falls well short in this area. The ice maker's capacity is petite. At best it produces 24 ounces of ice a day, about 1/3 of the capacity of the ice maker, enough for 2 glasses. Once the ice is gone, it takes almost 24 hours for the next batch of ice. If you have more than 2 people using ice, going buy a bag of ice. I have had their service techs look at the ice maker twice. On both occasions, after running diagnostics, they have said it works perfect and this is the most ice you are going to get out of it. It's disappointing to pay over $4,000 on a nice refrigerator and rarely have any ice.

Never Thought I'd Love an Appliance So Much

We absolutely love our new Kitchen Aid refrigerator. I finally can organize everything the way I want to, and the lighting is amazing. I can actually see into the drawers- no more lost veggies rotting in the bottom. The added slide trays in the freezer make frequently accessed items very easy to grab. And I must say, the added styling to the inside (woodgrain accents, lighting strips, etc) make me just want to open it an stare in into it (until it beeps to let me know its been open too long-ha). Our family is very happy with our purchase!

huge problems repeatedly

I bought this 2 years ago and it should have been replaced - instead Kitchen Aid insisted on fix after fix while the same issues return - the fridge clicks and then quits and then runs again. Once running ice builds up so ice maker is non usable. Kitchen aide has walked great appliance repair man through fix after fix and again - the issue remains. My ice cream is soup. I keep loaner fridge in garage as this fridge continues completely unreliable.

Junk, Horrible Customer Service

We've had the fridge for about 2 months now. So far, the ice maker doesn't work, the freezer temp is 9 degrees even tho temp is set at 0. Fridge section temp is 60 degrees even tho temp is set at 33 degrees and max cool feature is turned on. There's a build up of ice behind the freezer drawer. Repair guy has come out twice already and now KitchenAid wants the repair guy to add an additional sealant to the doors and interiors. I understand that it's impossible for every product to be perfect so my main issue here is with KitchenAid's horrible customer service. If you need to come out and add additional sealant to my "high quality product", then it's clearly defective. It needs to be replaced ASAP. But instead KitchenAid customer service has been rude, unhelpful and down right combative. We have wasted hours on this. Learn to stand behind your product. Now that I know how bad KitchenAid/Whirlpool customer service is, we will never buy another product from them.

We replaced a Bosch side by side that was only 5 years old because of inconsistent temperatures on the refrigerator side that caused food to spoil. We LOVE our new KitchenAid french door fridge. Excellent temperature consistency, beautiful appearance, much more usable space in the fridge and the ice-water dispenser is a pleasure to use with only 1 hand. No buttons to push so you can get both with just one hand!

UPDATE - from less than a week ago

SO...I sent my update in less than a week ago on this unit and the fact that it's on it's 3rd ice maker. At the time I thought it was cooling properly. That has failed as well. Over the last 4 days it was not feeling cold enough, but it's hot outside. I purchased a thermometer for the fridge and when I checked it, the internal temp says 52 degrees, but it's set for 35. All food spoiled. We had been eating things at unsafe temperatures for at least a couple of days. Hopefully we don't get ill. Thank goodness for the extended warranty I purchased from my retailer that does cover food spoilage because KA doesn't. One would think if they knew their product was reliable and worked, they would cover things like food spoilage in their warranties. This is especially true when the unit fails in the first 6 months you own it. HUGE disappointment and dealing with customer service is a joke. It's all you can do to get an appointment for them to come look at it. Apparently a working refrigerator isn't important.

Beautiful Fridge and Features...MAJOR Design Flaw

We purchased this refrigerator in February and have replaced the ice maker twice already. It works for a couple of months and then starts producing little to no ice. I am having to buy ice and keep it in my Orca cooler in the garage. For the price of this unit, it should be flawless. While the unit is beautiful inside and out, I would like something that is dependable and this is not. I should not have to call and get it repaired every couple of months. Rumor has it this is a known issue, but no fix....really KA? It's a design flaw of some sort where something is placed too close to something else and just freezes up. On max ice I am lucky to get 2 mini trays of ice a day. Not acceptable. We are working with our retailer to likely replace with something else since we thankfully bought the extended warranty. I was really excited about the way it looks and gives a very professional feel, but I don't have time or the desire to constantly call for repairs and what happens when the warranty does run out? Everything else seems to be OK. It cools as it's supposed to, but I need a working ice maker.

Measure Dimensions

Queen will always take responsibility for mistakes that we make; however taking proper measurements at home is the responsibility of the customer. Do not forget to measure doorways, any space that the appliance must travel through to get to its destination, as well as the final installation place. We can provide cut sheets and detailed specs for all of our appliances, so check with your sales- person. Unfortunately, if returns happen due to a customer's negligence to measure properly, we must charge a 20% restocking fee to cover our costs and re-sell an unboxed piece. If desired, our drivers can come out to measure ahead of time for a small fee. Please note: We do not remove door molding or cut any cabinetry.

Delivery Time Windows

We understand that all customers have jobs and personal obligations, which is why we are committed to giving you a 2-3 hour time window for your delivery. Never should you have to wait around all day for a delivery, as with much of our competition. Please understand that we must route the truck geographically, so any special delivery time requests will be taken very seriously but can never be guaranteed. Your time window will be set the evening before and you will receive it through a phone call from our Phoenixville branch. If you have not received your time window by 7:30 pm, please call 610-933-2900 (Option 2 for Retail Sales) and check with a Sales Associate.

Directions and Cross Streets

Your salesperson is responsible for asking all the necessary details to get your new appliances to your home, however if they forget to ask for the nearest cross street please call and let them know. GPS and online maps are not always accurate, so the nearest cross street and any directions or details that you feel will help them are greatly appreciated and necessary for our drivers (i.e. low bridges, unmarked roads, landmarks, etc.).

Standard Installations

If our delivery team deems any installation as 'non-standard' they will require your approval and signature before proceeding. In addition, an additional fee may be charged depending on the nature of the situation to compensate for additional time spent and materials used, similar to working with any other contractor. 'Non-standard' installations include, but are not limited to, the following scenarios:

Dishwashers

Flooring that is raised or built on top of a pre-existing floor makes dishwasher installations very difficult. Cutting off legs of the old dishwasher may be required for removal, but will only be performed with your authorization and signature. There is no guarantee that your dishwasher can be installed if your floor is raised too high, so please discuss this possibility with your salesperson so you can purchase a dishwasher that has more flexibility for your particular installation needs. If a dishwasher installation is beyond the scope of our trained professionals, we might insist on refunding your delivery fee and leaving the project for your own contractor. As a conscientious delivery crew, we always choose to error on the side of protecting your property and avoiding a sloppy installation.

Gas Ranges and Dryers

Gas valves must be located in the appropriate position behind the appliance, as we cannot reposition or manipulate any gas line. We will not touch gas valves on the outside of the house and be responsible for restarting your pilot lights.

Electric Ranges and Dryers

Hardwiring ranges and dryers does not meet the required regulations. We come prepared with 3 prong ($19.95) and 4 prong receptacles ($29.95) which must be installed and will hang loose, but safely, behind the unit. This nominal fee is significantly less than hiring an electrician, so please cooperate with our installers who insist on following local code. Look behind your appliance...If there is a 220v outlet, there will be no additional charges. New cords must always be purchased (3 Prong - $12.95, 4 Prong - $16.95), even with a receptacle installation, as we never take the risk of using an old and possibly frayed cord.

Washing Machines

Old fill hoses can leak or burst. Queen insists on protecting your property by using only new hoses for every one of our washer installations. Some machines come with new rubber hoses, while many do not, so be prepared to purchase new rubber or stainless steel ones for a small fee. If you insist on using your old hoses, that is not a problem, however we will only put the unit in place and you must sign and indicate that you will be hooking up the hoses yourself. 5 foot fill hoses are always used, which is longer than the standard 4 foot; however some tight spaces require longer fill hoses and drain hose extensions for a small fee (i.e. laundry centers).

Refrigerators

Refrigerator water lines can only be connected to copper tubing (no charge for install) or via poly line to a shut-off valve behind the refrigerator (small fee for materials). The installers can run a new water line with copper tubing for $79.95.

Inclement Weather

Please understand that our hard-working delivery crew cannot control inclement weather and traffic conditions. If emergencies arise you will be notified and rescheduling arrangements will be made to the best of our abilities. Completing all of our deliveries is a commitment we always keep, and we never intend to inconvenience any of our customers.

Scratch & Dent Appliances

Since Scratch & Dent appliances have pre-existing damage, please make sure to fill out a damage detail form with your salesperson. Our drivers take great pride in protecting your purchases, one of the main reasons we do not sub-contract our delivery team.

Removals

Removals of old appliances are $5 for each piece ($15 for Refrigerators) or can be taken outside for your bulk trash pickup at no charge.

  • All merchandise must be inspected and tested at the time of delivery.
  • Queen Appliance is not responsible for customer installation errors.
  • GOOD STOCK RETURNS
  • All dimensions must be approved for all major appliances. All no-fit and good stock returns will be charged a 20% restocking fee plus a re-delivery charge, if applicable. Merchandise must be in its original condition and include all original packing materials, accessories, product manuals and warranty cards. There will be no refund for labor, delivery and/or installation services for good stock returns.
  • DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISE
  • If you receive a product that is functionally defective upon delivery you must contact your sales associate within 72 hours for an exchange*. After this period, the manufacturer requires in-home service. If the appliance is deemed non-repairable by the manufacturer it will be replaced in accordance with their individual service/return policies.
  • DAMAGED MERCHANDISE
  • If you receive a cartoned product that is cosmetically damaged and the part is not replaceable** you must contact your sales associate within 72 hours for an exchange***. After this period, the manufacturer does not authorize damage returns. If you receive a product that is cosmetically damaged and the part is replaceable**, you have 14 days from the time of delivery to request a replacement part at no charge.
  • Queen Appliance reserves the right to limit or refuse to accept the return of merchandise at any time and for any reason. In rare cases, some appliances are non-returnable.
  • * Scratch & Dent appliances and Special Buy items are often one of a kind and sold at significant discounts, therefore if no exact replacement model is available you may apply the credit for that appliance toward a different model. Queen Appliance will always work to provide the best value possible, however any difference in product price is the responsibility of the customer.

  • BILLING TERMS AND CONDITIONS
  • Payments are to be made to Queen Appliance without any deduction or discount other than as stated in these Terms or in the relevant invoice or statement.
  • Online Orders: The balance of the invoice must be paid in full at the time of purchase.
  • In-Store / Phone Orders (Factory-Direct / New In Box Orders): A deposit of 50% of the invoice price must be paid when placing an order, in order for us to place the order with the vendor.   • In-Store / Phone Orders (Open Box / One-Of-A-Kind): A deposit of 5% of the item price must be paid when placing an order, in order to temporarily hold the product for 15 days maximum. An additional 45% deposit must be made within the first 15 day period (bringing the deposit total to 50%), in order to continue to hold the product. The product must be paid in full within 30 days from placing the order or at the time of delivery (whichever comes sooner).
  • Should these terms not be met, we reserve the right to cancel your order and release any product holds at our discretion. A full refund for all deposits made will be provided back to you via the original payment method used.
  • STORAGE CHARGES
  • There are no storage charges for items held in our warehouse as long as the item is paid in accordance with the Billing Terms and Conditions listed above.
  • CREDIT CARD PAYMENT
  • We accept the following credit card payment methods: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover.
  • FINANCING PAYMENT
  • We offer free 6 months financing (0% Interest) via a BrandSource Credit Card pending credit approval by Citibank. 12 Month Financing is available during certain promotional time windows. Contact your local showroom for more information. Online purchases do not qualify.

  • CASH/CHECK PAYMENT
  • We accept cash/check payment in-store only. Checks must clear our bank account before any product may be picked up or left on-site at delivery.
  • SALES TAX
  • We are responsible for collecting sales tax in the state of Pennsylvania. It is the customer's responsibility to declare and pay any applicable sales or use taxes for items delivered outside of Pennsylvania.
