I had been a partisan of side-by-side refrigerators and only bought this bottom freezer drawer unit for a tenant's unit because my dealer insisted it was what was more people wanted and I decided to make use of it until construction is finished. Though having to bend low and be on my knees had been a concern, getting more efficient use of the refrigerator's space has proven a worthwhile trade-off. I will likely get another one for my own pantry when that construction is done. One reservation I have is that it is not as quiet as some refrigerators and that is a concern for me for a pantry unit next to a study.

I was disappointed in this product. First of all, the stainless shows every finger print print and is very hard to get completely off. It seems there are always marks. Secondly, it dents extremely easy. I have obtained 2 small dents somehow and have no idea how. Thirdly, the cheese drawer "lid" keeps coming unattached, and lastly the vegetable drawers get stuck often and they are hard to open-not at all smooth. Lastly, the inside water dispenser takes a long time to dispense, while you awkwardly push and hold a button very firmly.

Runs beautifully with great features, like humidity control, filtered water, ice options. We have had it a year now and our only complaint is the internal space is limited, most notably for very tall items and the freezer in general, but we knew this going in due to the needs of our kitchen layout. The shelves are easy to move around to adjust as needed. If your kitchen has the space, I would go up a size.

Overall, this appears to be a well designed refrigerator. Layout of drawers and shelves is good and water dispenser and ice maker work well. Lighting is pretty good. Freezer is decent size. Vegetable and fruit drawers feel a little cheap and flimsy (they sometimes twist when pulled out unless your hand is directly in the middle of the drawer handle) whereas shelves and door bins seem sturdy. Unit needs to be 2 inches taller; can't stand up cartons or bottles on shelves without losing usable shelf space above/below. It is louder than our original Kitchenaid refrigerator. This is my second Kitchenaid refrigerator and some elements seem better while some seem less sturdy. A new unit so we will see how it runs.

No Freezer Light and Rust on the Freezer Door!

This fridge replaced a five year old "lemon", also made by KitchenAid (it slowly died and we had mold in the fridge after a point). We bought what we thought was a simpler model with no outside ice/water dispenser (there is a water dispense inside) in mid July 2017 (French doors, with lower freezer). After four hours, the freezer door started to frost and the freezer light would not come on. After three service calls and steaming the gaskets in both the fridge and the freezer to prevent condensation, the freezer light will still not come on. Also, during the second service call, the technician noticed a line of rust running down the middle of the freezer door (we thought the door was stainless steel but maybe it's polished steel?). On the third service call, a different technician said it was not rust, but was due to poor cleaning of the door on our part, and that we should buy the KitchenAid-approved cleaner (only available by calling KitchenAid Customer Service). We had only used a stainless steel cleaner on our previous fridge with no problem. Instead, tried to clean the stain with warm soapy water, but with no result. It's rust, and will get worse according to the second technician. In the meantime, no freezer light!

Due to space constraints (a narrow entry to kitchen) we had to go with a counter depth refrigerator. Had originally thought we'd go with the sister unit from Maytag but it was unavailable so went with Kitchenmaid. One plus: Wasn't sure about the water dispenser in side the left door - but it's great and saves the space of a through the door unit. BUT.....while we really wanted to like this refrigerator, there are several things that bugs us: 1. Handles - why can't KA make handles that don't come loose every three days. I've tightened them to the point of nearly breaking them and two or three days later they wiggle again - ridiculous!! 2. Doors - almost impossible to get them aligned - our floors are level - but have been futzing with the legs to try and get the doors aligned - two months now and still not there - beginning to think the doors are different sizes. 3. "Stainless" - really isn't shows every little smudge - feel like if you breathe on it it will show a mark 4. Capacity - realize it's not as deep but this thing is SMALL!!! 5. Build quality - pretty shoddy construction - insulation leaks around door seams and hinges, plastic sticking out where bottom trim attaches to freezer door - you'd think for this amount of money it would not look like amateur hour manufactured it.

Pretty good fridge. Good features. Not a fan of having to open the fridge to get to the water. I love that it is counter depth. The one thing that I don't like is that you have to open both doors to open the fruit and vegetable bins. would be nice to be able to open one bin with one door open.

Beautiful machine. Hower the freezer is not sealed correctly. Ice even formed on freezer light causing it not to work. Repair man brought a new seal which did not work. Replacement door has be ordered and expected to be delivered in TWO MONTHS. TO me this is an unacceptable period of time. I expected Kitchen Aid to be a quality product including service support, but the service period for a replacement part is an unacceptable period of time for a replacement part.

I purchased this for my kitchen reno...in fact I purchased 5 kitchenaid appliances , all of which I am extremely satisfied with. With the exception of the refrigerator. It is quite small and the fruit and veg drawers are cheaply made. Not to mention tiny! They do not slide open/shut easily and the humidity control lever does not slide on either drawer. Luckily I only have one child left at home! This refrigerator would not acomidate my family of 5. The salesman did show us the 22 cu. Ft. Option but it was also extremely small and for just 2 unnoticible cubic feet of space the cost difference was not justifiable. The freezer is also extremely small. No chance of big club shopping and storing with this unit ! The motor is noticing louder than my previous LG model as well . I am overall not happy with this product

We had limited options as we needed a white counter depth fridge. We basically found 3 that would fit. This one had best reviews and we are very happy with it two weeks in. I love the stainless handles - I feel like they will wear better than our previous white. The dimensions were spot on and fits like a glove. The ice maker (I tgink) is noisier than our old but I don't care:)

Even tough I would recommend this refrigerator but am displeased that after owning this appliance for 2 months we had to replace the control board (wpw 10594329) Because it was under warranty it was replaced free. However after the replacement of the control board on 8/4/17 it is again making the same noise it originally made which caused us to get the 1st replacement. The part is plastic so we know it is not going to last. Am very disappointed that a kitchen aid appliance is already needing replacement parts. Where are the engineers who designed this appliance and not thinking of the middle class homeowner and the expense of these new appliances and the quality of making mediocre appliances???

Granted I knew the counter depth fridge would be smaller, I find I rely on my garage fridge way more than I had hoped to. The water that is in the inside of the door and the non-dispenser type ice machine is a complete pain in the backside... But the worst part about it is the space between the back of the shelf in the wall is ample room for your condiments to fall down to the bottom. Also we have only had it for about a month and are careful with it yet the handle on the freezer is loose after already tightening it once. The freezer drawers snag on items knocking them down to the bottom making it hard to reach. Disappointed to say the least. t looks great but functions terribly.

I was replacing an identical refrigerator only different brand. NOTHING has changed. The water dispenser gets air in this one though delaying the water a bit. The levers on the veggie drawers get stuck on the drawer, hence the reason they were broken on my last one. The outside is harder to clean than my old one. Leaves spots easily. I am wondering if this is due to the "spot-free" finish.

I love the counter depth refrigerator. It fits perfect in my space. If there is a negative about this refrigerator it would be there is not enough freezer space. I guess that is to be expected with the counter depth. I would rather have less freezer space and have the refrigerator fit in the space. My old refrigerator come out of the cabinet several inches and that didn't look good. Overall, I am enjoying the refrigerator.

This refrigerator was installed in our new home on June 7, 2017. On July 28, 2017 the freezer compartment failed. The temperature rose to 30 degrees and when I tried to lower the setting it went back to 30 degrees. We called for service and were advised the earliest date would be the following Wed. We disposed of most of the food On wed. the technician was not sure of the cause of the problem. He did replace one part and said another part might be needed. We can no longer trust this unit if we leave home for more than a day.

I love my refriegerator, just wish I could fit a bigger cubic foot in my kitchen. but this new black stainless model is georgeous! i have not had to wipe anything down on the face of this fridge and doors at all. this new face really works beautifully, no smudges at all!! one thing i would ask is an area for the egg carton or even a built in egg holder. I cannot fit egg carton on te door. we had to make accomodation for our egg dozen. other than that, i love it. i can see everything in the fridge section, dont have to bend down. my husband isnt losing his food in the fridge. very nice touch having water fountain inside the fridge, i dont have the mess outside the door, leaving me more space for storage. love it, dont take this away from me....keep this model going forever!!

Counter width looks great but you do lose some space

This unit has lots of nice conveniences We did not get a unit with outside dispensers and it works out fine. The unit is larger than our previous refrigerator but the counter depth results in some space limitations especially in the freezer which houses the ice maker. That is what you get when you do not want a refrigerator projecting halfway into the kitchen.

At Queen Appliance we only offer 'white-glove' delivery services, so you never have to worry about additional charges to put a product in place, carry up stairs, or hook up hoses, water lines, and power chords. Installation charges do apply for built-in or gas appliances, but we will always be drastically less expensive than hiring an electrician or plumber! Call a Sales Associate to verify delivery and installation charges.

In addition, many of our appliances include rebates to cover the cost of delivery and even installation! Speak to a sales associate for more information on specific delivery and installation charges.

Queen's Premium Delivery Service

While most of our competitors sub-contract their delivery services, we take pride in quality control and protection of your appliances and property. Not only can we better accommodate specific customer needs, but we guarantee professionalism throughout each of our deliveries and patience with all of our customers.

We may sell a lot of scratched & dented appliances, but we take great pride in the fact that we do not CREATE our own Scratch & Dent merchandise.

Measure Dimensions

Queen will always take responsibility for mistakes that we make; however taking proper measurements at home is the responsibility of the customer. Do not forget to measure doorways, any space that the appliance must travel through to get to its destination, as well as the final installation place. We can provide cut sheets and detailed specs for all of our appliances, so check with your sales- person. Unfortunately, if returns happen due to a customer's negligence to measure properly, we must charge a 20% restocking fee to cover our costs and re-sell an unboxed piece. If desired, our drivers can come out to measure ahead of time for a small fee. Please note: We do not remove door molding or cut any cabinetry.

Delivery Time Windows

We understand that all customers have jobs and personal obligations, which is why we are committed to giving you a 2-3 hour time window for your delivery. Never should you have to wait around all day for a delivery, as with much of our competition. Please understand that we must route the truck geographically, so any special delivery time requests will be taken very seriously but can never be guaranteed. Your time window will be set the evening before and you will receive it through a phone call from our Phoenixville branch. If you have not received your time window by 7:30 pm, please call 610-933-2900 (Option 2 for Retail Sales) and check with a Sales Associate.

Directions and Cross Streets

Your salesperson is responsible for asking all the necessary details to get your new appliances to your home, however if they forget to ask for the nearest cross street please call and let them know. GPS and online maps are not always accurate, so the nearest cross street and any directions or details that you feel will help them are greatly appreciated and necessary for our drivers (i.e. low bridges, unmarked roads, landmarks, etc.).

Standard Installations

If our delivery team deems any installation as 'non-standard' they will require your approval and signature before proceeding. In addition, an additional fee may be charged depending on the nature of the situation to compensate for additional time spent and materials used, similar to working with any other contractor. 'Non-standard' installations include, but are not limited to, the following scenarios:


Flooring that is raised or built on top of a pre-existing floor makes dishwasher installations very difficult. Cutting off legs of the old dishwasher may be required for removal, but will only be performed with your authorization and signature. There is no guarantee that your dishwasher can be installed if your floor is raised too high, so please discuss this possibility with your salesperson so you can purchase a dishwasher that has more flexibility for your particular installation needs. If a dishwasher installation is beyond the scope of our trained professionals, we might insist on refunding your delivery fee and leaving the project for your own contractor. As a conscientious delivery crew, we always choose to error on the side of protecting your property and avoiding a sloppy installation.

Gas Ranges and Dryers

Gas valves must be located in the appropriate position behind the appliance, as we cannot reposition or manipulate any gas line. We will not touch gas valves on the outside of the house and be responsible for restarting your pilot lights.

Electric Ranges and Dryers

Hardwiring ranges and dryers does not meet the required regulations. We come prepared with 3 prong ($19.95) and 4 prong receptacles ($29.95) which must be installed and will hang loose, but safely, behind the unit. This nominal fee is significantly less than hiring an electrician, so please cooperate with our installers who insist on following local code. Look behind your appliance...If there is a 220v outlet, there will be no additional charges. New cords must always be purchased (3 Prong - $12.95, 4 Prong - $16.95), even with a receptacle installation, as we never take the risk of using an old and possibly frayed cord.

Washing Machines

Old fill hoses can leak or burst. Queen insists on protecting your property by using only new hoses for every one of our washer installations. Some machines come with new rubber hoses, while many do not, so be prepared to purchase new rubber or stainless steel ones for a small fee. If you insist on using your old hoses, that is not a problem, however we will only put the unit in place and you must sign and indicate that you will be hooking up the hoses yourself. 5 foot fill hoses are always used, which is longer than the standard 4 foot; however some tight spaces require longer fill hoses and drain hose extensions for a small fee (i.e. laundry centers).


Refrigerator water lines can only be connected to copper tubing (no charge for install) or via poly line to a shut-off valve behind the refrigerator (small fee for materials). The installers can run a new water line with copper tubing for $79.95.

Inclement Weather

Please understand that our hard-working delivery crew cannot control inclement weather and traffic conditions. If emergencies arise you will be notified and rescheduling arrangements will be made to the best of our abilities. Completing all of our deliveries is a commitment we always keep, and we never intend to inconvenience any of our customers.

Scratch & Dent Appliances

Since Scratch & Dent appliances have pre-existing damage, please make sure to fill out a damage detail form with your salesperson. Our drivers take great pride in protecting your purchases, one of the main reasons we do not sub-contract our delivery team.


Removals of old appliances are $5 for each piece ($15 for Refrigerators) or can be taken outside for your bulk trash pickup at no charge.

  • All merchandise must be inspected and tested at the time of delivery.
  • Queen Appliance is not responsible for customer installation errors.
  • All dimensions must be approved for all major appliances. All no-fit and good stock returns will be charged a 20% restocking fee plus a re-delivery charge, if applicable. Merchandise must be in its original condition and include all original packing materials, accessories, product manuals and warranty cards. There will be no refund for labor, delivery and/or installation services for good stock returns.
  • If you receive a product that is functionally defective upon delivery you must contact your sales associate within 72 hours for an exchange*. After this period, the manufacturer requires in-home service. If the appliance is deemed non-repairable by the manufacturer it will be replaced in accordance with their individual service/return policies.
  • If you receive a cartoned product that is cosmetically damaged and the part is not replaceable** you must contact your sales associate within 72 hours for an exchange***. After this period, the manufacturer does not authorize damage returns. If you receive a product that is cosmetically damaged and the part is replaceable**, you have 14 days from the time of delivery to request a replacement part at no charge.
  • Queen Appliance reserves the right to limit or refuse to accept the return of merchandise at any time and for any reason. In rare cases, some appliances are non-returnable.
  • * Scratch & Dent appliances and Special Buy items are often one of a kind and sold at significant discounts, therefore if no exact replacement model is available you may apply the credit for that appliance toward a different model. Queen Appliance will always work to provide the best value possible, however any difference in product price is the responsibility of the customer.
  • ** Examples of replaceable cosmetic parts include, but are not limited to:
    • Handles
    • Knobs
    • Panels
    • Feet/Leveling Legs
    • Escutcheon Plate/Panel
    • Toe Kick/Kick Plate
    • etc
  • *** Scratch & Dent and other unboxed items are subject to the agreement at the time of sale. Customer must sign that the appliance arrived in the same condition that it was purchased. If any additional damage is noticed, please contact your sales associate immediately at the time of delivery. Returns after the time of delivery are subject to a re-delivery fee. Damage returns will not be authorized after 72 hours, although replacement parts can be ordered up to 14 days from the time of delivery. Queen Appliance reserves the right to determine if a cosmetic part is to be replaced or if the product should be returned instead.

  • Payments are to be made to Queen Appliance without any deduction or discount other than as stated in these Terms or in the relevant invoice or statement.
  • Online Orders: The balance of the invoice must be paid in full at the time of purchase.
  • In-Store / Phone Orders (Factory-Direct / New In Box Orders): A deposit of 50% of the invoice price must be paid when placing an order, in order for us to place the order with the vendor. The remaining balance of 50% must be paid within 15 days or at the time of delivery (whichever comes sooner).
  • In-Store / Phone Orders (Open Box / One-Of-A-Kind): A deposit of 5% of the item price must be paid when placing an order, in order to temporarily hold the product for 15 days maximum. An additional 45% deposit must be made within the first 15 day period (bringing the deposit total to 50%), in order to continue to hold the product. The product must be paid in full within 30 days from placing the order or at the time of delivery (whichever comes sooner).
  • Should these terms not be met, we reserve the right to cancel your order and release any product holds at our discretion. A full refund for all deposits made will be provided back to you via the original payment method used.
  • There are no storage charges for items held in our warehouse as long as the item is paid in accordance with the Billing Terms and Conditions listed above.
  • We accept the following credit card payment methods: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover.
  • We offer free 6 months financing (0% Interest) via a BrandSource Credit Card pending credit approval by Citibank. 12 Month Financing is available during certain promotional time windows. Contact your local showroom for more information. Online purchases do not qualify.
